Women's handbags are among one of the top items collected by many women. There are a variety of styles, brands, and types of women's handbags which is why women tend to build a large collection of handbags in their closets. There are handbags for every occasion such as weddings, a fancy night on the town, an everyday bag, and an adventure bag.

Small bags without straps are referred to as clutches. These bags are typically used when a women is getting dressed up and attending a nice event such as a wedding. These bags are used when a woman does not want to carry a large bag around. They are normally only large enough to fit a wallet and phone in them.
Larger bags are generally used for everyday use so a woman can bring many essential items with her on an everyday basis. Adventure bags are the handbags women will use when going to an amusement park, the beach, a casino, or another event where a convenient bag with easy access is the best option. These bags could have a large strap that is worn across the body to help with the prevention of other people going into your purse while you are in a line.
Besides styles of bags there are also many brands of bags. It seems as though once a woman finds a brand she likes then she will be loyal to that brand. Some of the more expensive handbag brands are Louis Vuitton, Prada, Michael Kors, Coach, and Dooney and Bourke. These bags are normally made out of expensive materials such as real leather. Some of the less expensive bags include brands of Fossil, Nine West, Liz Claiborne, and Vera Bradley. Many of these brands can be found in department stores such as Macy's. Other brands such as Louis Vuitton will have a whole store dedicated to handbags and other accessories.
Since higher priced bags are used by celebrities, many women want to have similar bags. This increased the availability of fake designer bags that look very much like the originals. These bags are not found in the stores but are more likely to be found at farmers markets or at street vendors in major cities. Many women love handbags and will always be on the lookout for a good bag and a good deal.
